Help your family start important conversations about boys’ mental health with our cards. Designed for families to use at home, these cards present real-life scenarios and thought-provoking prompts to encourage open discussions.
Why do these cards matter?
- Boys aged 11-15 are 1.5x more likely to have a mental illness than girls in the same age group.
- Men are only 38% of NHS ‘Talking Therapy Referrals’, yet 78% of deaths by suicides are male.
- Emotional suppression in boys starts at age 7.
Created by boys, for boys, these cards were written by 16- and 17-year-olds who understand the challenges young men face today. With 40 unique scenarios, they provide a relatable and engaging way to explore mental health topics in a safe, supportive environment.
Each card belongs to one of four key themes:
✅ Coping with Emotions — Managing stress, anxiety, frustration and other difficult feelings
✅ Building Confidence — Overcoming self-doubt and developing a strong sense of self
✅ Navigating Friendships — Handling peer pressure, conflict and social situations
✅ Family Connection — Strengthening communication and understanding at home.
To further develop conversation, every card includes a unique suggestion page on our website, offering additional insights and strategies to help families navigate each topic.
Whether used at a dinner table, on car rides, or as part of a bedtime routine, these cards make mental health discussions a natural part of daily life — one card at a time.
